Betting Secrets: The Best Football Betting Strategy & Much More Revealed

How it Works So, on to how this football betting system functions in practice. There are many ways to go about this, but I’ll cover two of the most popular here. As I mentioned earlier, this works best if you can find bets that have a high value that you can capitalise on. Taking the above game as an example, let’s say you lay the draw on the exchange at odds of 4.5. If, as fully expected, West Ham take the lead in the first half, then you can simply cash out for a profit. Another option is to hedge your bet by backing the draw. After the first goal for the favourites goes in, the odds at bookies for the draw will rise. Backing these new odds with an amount that will cover your liability will result in a guaranteed profit. For example, if we place the £10 lay bet at odds of 4.00, then are able to back the draw in-play after a goal at odds of 6.00 with a £6.5 stake, we would be able to guarantee profit of £3 in the event of a draw and £3.5 if either team wins. Paul Merson is comparing every Premier League team to a bag of Revels and we love it

Pundits often get a hard time of it.

They say things in the heat of the moment that can be pulled apart afterwards.

But sometimes they come up with nuggets of metaphorical gold that live long in the memory.

Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson gets his fair share of criticism for his laid back style in the studio, but we think that is wholly unfair.

The latest soundbites coming from the double Premiership and FA Cup winner are liquid commentary.

It sounds like Merse has found a new favourite metaphor that is taking 2017 by storm.

The Sky Sports pundit has begun comparing loads of different Premier League teams to a bag of Revels.

Now the trick of the words here is that a bag of Revels contains several different types of chocolate and you don’t know what you will get when they come out.

Even a wordsmith of William Shakespeare’s calibre would be proud of this.

Using it once as a nice turn of phrase would keep readers and viewers interested and paint a nice picture of what you mean.

But Merson has gone wild with this one, wheeling it out on no less than FIVE separate occasions.

He has also invented a word by using Revel as an adjective – ‘Revel-ly’.

And in one case he used the word literally before describing the team as a bag of Revels, implying Everton players were actually a selection of coffee, orange and crispy chocolates.

We live for this level of elite punditry.

Not only is Merson pulling out amazing phrases like this on a regular basis on Sky Sports, he also signed for Welsh Football League Division Three outfit Caerau.

Good on you, Paulie.
