Lonely Caen midfielder Ismael Diomande left behind in Strasbourg after team bus leaves without him

CAEN midfielder Ismael Diomande was left stranded as he missed the team bus back to the airport.
The Ligue 1 club drew at Strasbourg in North-East France and the squad hop-footed it straight to the airport to board a flight back across the country straight after the game.
Ismael Diomande was left behind by Caen team bus after Strasbourg gameAFP - GettyBut Diomande didn’t get the message the team bus was not hanging about afterwards and stayed behind at the Stade de la Meinau to catch up with Strasbourg forward Idriss Saadi.
But by the time the Ivory Coast international had finished chatting, the team bus had left for the airport without him.
Diomande told RMC Radio: “I go out, I do not see the bus anymore.
“But I did not panic. Fortunately, they didn’t take the flight without me.

“I’m waiting, I think they’ll drop me at the airport. But that’s crazy!”
The 25-year-old made his own way to the airport to catch up with the rest of the squad before the flight took off.

Caen are sixth in Ligue 1, 15 points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain but six behind second placed Lyon.
Roy Keane, while manager at Sunderland left three players behind who were late for the team bus for a Championship game at Barnsley in 2007.
Anthony Stokes, Marton Fulop and Tobias Hysen were late and Keane did not wait around and the trio missed the game at Oakwell.
